Biology Major - minor?

I was not sure where to post this as I have never posted on this forum, but rather I have been a long-time lurker.

I am currently majoring in Biology with the intention of going to graduate school for an Ecology & Evolutionary Biology program.

My question is, for such a field of study, would it be better to minor in geology or anthropology? I am interested in either field, I am just not sure which one would be more beneficial for my studies at the moment. My initial thought would be geology, but then I started pondering various options that might would benefit me. I am also open to other suggestions outside of the two minors I have listed.

Thank you in advance!

Hi LadySci–
Depends what kinds of questions you want to pursue in graduate school. Interested in primate behavioral ecology?-- maybe Anthro. Interested in bivalve evolution over geologic time scales?-- maybe Geology.

Really I think you can’t go wrong with either choice, and in any case you will discover what aspects of those related fields interest/ excite you, which will lead you towards a EEB program that is the best fit for you.
Good luck!

A third suggestion= minor in mathematics

I had thought about math as well actually! I am still trying to figure out my niche so to say in the area of eco/evo. This was definitely helpful and gives me something to think about. Thank you!
