Biology question from a previous exam

My friend told me of a question from like Nov. 09 or something where it showed a picture of DNA and it asked "how many genes are present?"

What is the answer to this? How do you find out?

You can’t determine the number of genes from a diagram of a DNA segment. You can determine the number of codons.

Apparently you can… I might be missing some parts of the question but they don’t give you anything specific, just a picture.

Double-check the question with your friend. If we could do that, we could have saved billions of dollars spent on the Human Genome Project.
