Biomed Engineering vs Physics! Help please!

I'm already a sophomore in college and am considering biomedical engineering as a major. I need to decide fast if that's what I want to do because it requires a lot of units. I was torn between physics/BME.

I'd like to help people maybe get an MD, but also do research such as figuring out how the brain works, stuff like that or maybe how the body/brain perceive space/time?.

I've heard of the MD/PHD. but that takes almost 7 years!

Would BME be a good major for that? or Physics and then med school?

Also, if I get a B.S.E. in BME and decide I wanna pursue physics in grad school. Can I do that?

Thanks.!

Well, you’ve given reasons for BME, but not too many for Physics. So I’d say to do BME. BME opens up lots of opps for you in the future including Grad School in many things (such as Physics).

If you intend to go into physics grad school you will have a tough time learning if you go from BME to physics. The other way, not so much probably.

Go and see an academic counselor at your school - they specialize in this sort of thing. They could probably give you very good advice about how to figure out what major is right for YOU. Afterall, you are an individual and posting on an anonymous internet forum is not going to help you very much. Especially with a decision this important.
