I'm set on a Biology major, but am unsure of which one specifically. I've been considering several, with Biomedical/Bioengineering Engineering and Biochemistry as top choices. I love the engineering/practical aspect to the Biomed major, so it would probably be my first choice. However...a family friend recently told me that it was a horrible niche major which would kill my GPA and chances of getting into Med school, and if I didnt get in it would be a low-paying, miserable job. They're trying to persuade me to pursue a Buisness&Engineering double major, which would "open doors" in any field, supposedly. I can kind of see their point but Ive never even considered buisness playing a role in my life (outside personal finances, haha...) Im worried that the coursework of a double major unrelated to premed requirements would be grueling and probably take like 5 years to graduate. And Im not even sure how I would like it. Sooo...Biomedical Engineering vs Buisness&Engineering vs Biochemistry??

Ok, first off, med school does not care about what you major in as long as you have completed pre-requisite classes for it. Med school is cut throat, competitively. The important thing is to have a high GPA and excellent MCAT scores.
Second of all, you don’t have to double major in business and engineering to get a good job if med school does not work out. Engineering on its own would mostly guarantee a job for you(depending on which field of engineering you choose). It is also extremely rigorous on its own and double majoring would probably kill you. Even business on its own(also depending on which field) would be a good fall back just in case med school does not work out. Just do not choose business administration, its worthless. Instead choose Economics, Finance, Accounting.
So you have a multitude of choices here. Remember just get good grades, complete pre-requisites, and get excellent MCAT scores. Also prepare to spend close to 200,000 in tuition depending where you plan to go to school. I hope this helps.
