Biomedical/Mechanical Engineering Future?

Im stuck between mechanical engineering and biomedical. Both I know what I would want to do down the road. If I went mechanical, I would go down the aerospace field. But I've looked into aerospace and a lot of people are saying it doesn't have that great of a future becuase of budget cuts. Biomedical on the other hand is expected to grow over 60 percent in the next 10-20 years.
Here are my questions(s):

1) Is aerospace still a "safe" industry to rely on right now or in the next 10 years?

2) If I were to get a Masters in Aerospace or Biomedical, which do you think would have a
a bigger payout or salary? I like both so salary isn't a problem but it's still a factor

Unless FDA stops bullying every new medical technology (including medical iphone apps), I dont see biomedical to have much demand growth.

I know people with masters of biomedical engineering from reputable US university that are earning less than 25 per hour.

Dont know much about aerospace, but a mechanical engineer degree is very flexible and can get u into those high paying o&g jobs if u decided not to go to aerospace.

I agree with @BEngineer, I see our Biomedical engineering graduates mostly going to graduate school and medical school, not a lot of jobs out there in the field. Mechanical Engineers usually have lots more options in industry 9and graduate school)
