Bit worried about where I'm going for UG

I'm sorry if threads like this are made all of the time, I just needed some advice. So basically this year I was pretty screwed, I've been rejected/waitlisted almost everywhere and now I'll be going to my safety school (which I really don't mind since I love e campus). My one problem is that I'm worried the school, UC Merced, will really hurt my chances of getting into a decent med school. I realize that a prestigious UG is not always needed for a good med school, but I'm worried because my school isn't even ranked and its brand spanking new. The good thing is that there's a lot of opportunities for research since its new and very small, but again, I'd like some advice. I'm also majoring in bioengineering there. Thank you all.

bump? 10char

1) All US medical schools are decent. (More than decent, in fact…)

2) The MCAT is the great equalizer.

3) All CA applicants for med school are at a disadvantage simply because there are so many of them. Getting into any CA public medical school is going to be extremely difficult/competitive regardless of what undergrad you attend. Be prepared to apply widely across the country when it’s time.

The above post speaks truth.

get 3.7+ GPA, can be at podunk U

Get 32+ MCAT

Apply AMCAS early june, get secondaries in by mid August. Apply BROADLY.

???*

Profit
