I know Bryn Mawr is considered a diverse school as far as the 7 seven sisters are concerned, but as a newly matriculating black woman at the school I’m wondering how truly embracing it is for WoC.
I was hoping for an opportunity to join one of the Black Greek Lettered Organizations, but there are none on campus.
Any suggestions on how someone coming from a predominately black environment can find their tribe at the school?
Same here, I’m black and applying ED. From the looks of their club list, the WoC seem to be doing fine. I took a visit there and one of the students told me about the community based life of black women there at Bryn Mawr.
Hey, I’m a current student at Bryn Mawr. Feel free to reach out to me, but I don’t use this site often. There are no Black Greek organization on campus and it really is not feasible to join in, many have tried. This is something I was considering as a freshmen since my whole family is in Greek orgs. This is also my absolutely biggest regret of attending Bryn Mawr since I am not able to join a sorority that my family is in.
The black community is pretty small so it’s not hard to find your tribe here at all! You can consider living in the ECC as a first year.
