Blair Academy vs The Hill School

I recently visited both The Hill School and Blair Academy, and can only apply to one, but I loved them both! Blair seemed to have a more tightknit communuty and the dresscode is more relaxed, which I like. Also my sister and two brothersis go to Lawrenceville, so if I end up at Hill, that could be kinda weird b/c they're rival schools. I like how Hill has an ice hockey rink and better college matriculation, but I love Blair too! Can someone compare and contrast some facts about academics, athletics, and most of all, student life at these two schools? Thanks

Hello there!
I can’t say much about Blair, though I do have a friend who attends and is very happy. However, I am a student at Hill and I love it. The dress code was definitely a shock at first, but I’ve come to appreciate it. It gives the students something to bond about (whether it’s us arguing that it should be more lax or wearing blazers and ties to L’ville weekend with pride). I would argue that Hill’s community is one of the most close-knit I have ever seen. Of course, all of this can be very hard to tell from a first visit, and I strongly recommend attending revisit days at both schools.
In terms of academics at Hill, we are very strong. Kids walk around with SAT scores above 2100 and don’t understand that’s generally impressive. Students in my class have applied to MIT, Brown, Princeton, Harvard, and the like, and most are expected to get it. You can certainly take easier classes if you would prefer, but most students will end their career with a minimum of 2 APs. I’ve taken 7, and a friend has taken upwards of 10. Our teachers are phenomenal. We just gained a science teacher who taught at Harvard and many of our teachers are published.
I could ramble about Hill for a long while, so ask specific questions! I wish you the best of luck, and I hope someone will be able to talk about Blair here, as well.

I mean, you’d have to deal with your siblings poking fun at your school if you went to Hill for lots of things, like, you know, getting crushed at Hill on Hill weekend ;)
