Blasts in London

I woke up this morning and came downstairs and of course my mom had the t.v. on the news. And it was saying how four blasts went off in London on the bus and transit systems. The report isn't clear on how many are dead and injured, but I feel soo sorry for people in London, or the entire UK for that matter.

The report said it might be Al-Queda that is responsible. I just don't understand why innocent people have to get hurt just so a statement can get made.

Because Al-Queda deals in eye for an eye terms. Britain has repeatedly attacked their Holy Land for centuries, it makes sense that they counterattack. I am in no way defending what happened, but still, we in the western world practically beg for it.

very well put, MzLover3

My boyfriend is in Europe and called me this morning to wake me up to tell me about it. I'm SO scared because I live in London for a month each summer and use the circle line on the subway, which was bombed twice, every single day. I feel so heart-broken for all of the people in London, esp. those who were victims in the bombings, or those who knew anyone who was. This is definitely a very sad day.

You're a moron, MzLover. Here's an idea. Approach the family of one of the innocent civilians blown to smithereens on the Underground this morning. Tell them that their son or daughter who was on his or her way to work was "begging" to be blown up by lunatic camel-jockeys as he or she settled in for the ride with a cup of coffee and the paper. For what? Retribution for the government's bombing of desert "monuments" that are already worthless? Go to hell...

bravo cswin06 well put...

For what? Retribution for the government's bombing of desert "monuments" that are already worthless? Go to hell...

Go tell that to the Arabs desperate for sweet revenge for messing with them and ruining their holy land which seem "worthless" to you.

It IS worthless to me and it should be to you. It's 2005, time for the Arab world to evolve a bit. Maybe buy some nice condo's in Boca and let their women show their faces in public.

It's 2005, time for the Arab world to evolve a bit. Maybe buy some nice condo's in Boca and let their women show their faces in public.

Whatever the year, its time for America to mind their own business and stop causing tensions for no reason. If holy monuments are worthless to you, that your problem. The Arab world is already evolved and they are fine the way they are. i would be rather worried about the situation in the US :)

My brother DIED on 9/11 when he was visiting the South Tower, so don't even start assuming that I don't know how it feels like to go through the death of an innocent loved one to the terrorists. I'm just saying what my brother himself thought. I honor his memory, just like I will honor the 40 deaths today....by pinpointing the problem and helping to correct it!

Sorry about your brother MzLover3 :(

Thank you, Diana.

Enjoi, where are you from? If you the Arab world is fine, then why do you plan on going to an American university?

HEY, Don't insult other cultures. in fact, one of the first human civilizations was located in today's Iraq. I don't feel much pain for the American soldiers, since they know they may die in battle anyday (that's why they are soldiers), but I do feel a lot of pain for some innocent Iraqi civilians who died.

Well, US universities are the best in the world, that's why everyone comes........

Hoo, are you a UVa Wahoo?

Why should it matter where he's from?

He's clearly a pacifist who understands that Islamic civilization isn't bent on destroying Western civilization like the American public has been trained to think. You have to understand that Arabs are, on the whole, normal citizens of their respective countries. But just like how we have our white supremicist subculture, they have religious fundamentalists.

Tony Blair angers me when he says that "we [the "civilized"] will prevail and they ["they savages"] will not." That's the kind of talk that got us into this mess. "Civilization" is a point of view and people should learn about what the terrorists' points of view are and how they are not at all unjustified, admit to wrongdoing, and find a solution without berating the other side as nothing but a bunch of "savages." (which only serves to breed a new generation of "savages.")

People need to distinguish between innocent, honest cultural functions/attributes and dangerous/discriminatory/deadly/unjustified functions. Unless a natural or fundamental "human law" is being violated, I don't see how a cultural difference can be sufficient grounds for "berating the other side as savages"

Tony Blair....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHa................................I don't like him, i wouldn't be surprised if half of Iraqis have higher IQs than he does..........

"Well, US universities are the best in the world, that's why everyone comes........"

Look, I am a liberal opposed to the war, but terrorists are DOGS for killing innocent members of the public however you want to slice it. This was an attack in cold blood, and anyone who attacks innocent civilians is a disgusting human being. The US gives more than any other country in the world in humanitarian aid. The US is home to some of the most influential organizations aiding the world, including The Peace Corps, The Red Cross, and many others. The United States gives $11.4 billion in humanitarian aid each year, more than any other country in the world. And what countries recieve our aid? Iraq, Irael, Egypt, Columbia, Jordan, Russia, Pakistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Afganistan. During the tsunami, who did the hurt countries cry for? The United States, of course. Don't worry, though, Japan, Australia, and The US held SE Asia's hand and aided them in a time of need.

Look, you can call the US evil all you want...but stop taking our money, our resources, stop getting angry when Americans are offended by your insults, and most definitely DON'T move here!!!

"It IS worthless to me and it should be to you. It's 2005, time for the Arab world to evolve a bit. Maybe buy some nice condo's in Boca and let their women show their faces in public."

cswim06- people with your limited scope and capacity is what is wrong with society.

Believe me, if I was really the problem with society, we'd all be a hell of a lot happier right now. You are an obvious product of the age of political correctness: trained to respect all cultures and treat all "world citizens" as "special" even if their favorite extracurricular activity is bombing nightclubs.
