<p>I got this in my FA award. Anyone know anything about it, or at least more than what is on the website? It is need-based so I am afraid it will go away when my family doesn't have more than 2 in college. Sigh. I wish it were permanent/merit. It replaces loans in my package. Did others have loans in their packages? </p>

<p>Now I’m answering my own post–I saw that Hopkins offered 180 of these last year. I hope my original post didn’t sound ungrateful. Michael Bloomberg was so generous to establish this award. It replaces loans in need packages, if you were wondering. I just wish my award would last for all 4 years, which it probably won’t, I’m guessing, but I can ask. </p>

<p>i have this award as well… the amount varies each year, depending on your loan package. it’s been as high as ~28k (with 1 sibling in college), and as low as ~15k (w/o any siblings in college). my family’s income has fluctuated quite a bit thanks to the economy, so that played a part too. i’d definitely check to see what your package would look like without a sibling in college- talk to the financial aid office. hope it all works out!</p>
