Boarding Laptops/Desktops?

Hi, I was just curious to find out if boarding schools want laptops or desktops in the dorms. My reasoning is that if I got a desktop, I could transfer all the important stuff onto it from my older laptop, allowing my laptop to run faster when I need it on the go, while the desktop runs faster with the bigger files and projects.

Most schools will allow both laptops and desktops. However, I could be wrong. Check with the schools individually.

From my experience, boarding schools allow both laptops and desktops, but you will most likely want all of your files on your laptop, as many students, myself included, carry that around almost everywhere. If you don’t mind working on your larger projects in your room, desktops can be beneficial, but if you want to easily work anywhere on campus, laptops are the way to go.
It is your decision really, just something for you to think about.

Ok. I think I’ll get a good laptop that runs with the power of a desktop then, if that works.

I would also recommend a laptop. I use my computer on my bed, on the floor, in the library, etc. Having all of my files in one place that I can transport around is very helpful. Also, occasionally a teacher will ask you to bring your computer to class. I think having a desktop would be inconvenient and bulky in the dorm rooms.
