I am interested in schools like Loomis Chaffee, Phillips Exeter, EF, Choate, Taft, Hotchkiss, Kent, The Hun School, The Hill School, etc. I also need help narrowing down my selection :).
Use the search tool on the forum to find threads on the SSAT as well as the schools you have mentioned. There is a tremendous amount of information here. When you have more specific questions, you’re sure to get some responses.
Yay! I see that you’ve posted here as well which is great. Again could we have a specific etc.?
As for the SSATs do as @cameo43 says or you can always PM me or anyone else on CC for tips. I do recommend Quizlets though, they saved my life for the vocab sections.
@skieurope@ccuser1212 Oh, my mistake, I’m sorry. I meant to say PM anyone on the CC forums who you have talked to about the SSATS and have agreed to have a direct talk to you.
I think the best idea for narrowing down the schools you would like to apply to is visiting them all in early fall and getting a feel for each school and their community, because it really helps to see if schools are a fit for you.
After getting your SSAT score, compare it to the average scores for those accepted at different schools to determine reaches, matches, and safeties-trust me, you’ll sleep a LOT more soundly on March 9th if you know you’ve got a safety or two in the mix.
My kids read the book, Admit You! by Ross D. Blankenship. Look it up. It talks about the whole boarding school process. My kids ordered it on their own. It is an easy read.
