You could call the school to find out.
My kid knows a PA student who made that switch. But I would still follow the advice above and get the official scoop.
It happens all the time. Once you’re there you talk with the Dean of Students and Residential Life. You mean on your application? I think if you live within a certain distance from the school, you have to apply as day. If you live outside the radius, you have to apply as boarder.
Are you a student now? Or do you want to change what you are applying to be? The steps are different for each.
@preppedparent there are 2 towns where you have to be a day student, then a number where you can choose, but beyond that radius you have to board. It is spelled out on the website.
It also depends if you mean as a current student or applicant.
I know some students who applied (and were accepted) as day students with the intent to move closer if accepted.
