We lose another…. And only 65 years old. At least Sidney Poitier and Betty White led a more “complete” life. So sad.

Wow, how sad. He was young. He was in the middle of a September-May comedy tour.
Way too young to go!! 
I loved him as the host of AFV.
Interesting that stories make a point of saying no drug use, which was my first thought. What would kill him at 65?
Three people I graduated HS with have died in the past week. I’m not even 60. One was stroke-related, and this guy had been overweight his whole life so may not be that surprising, but he’s probably the first guy I know who is old enough for a lifetime of poor choices to have caught up to him? No word on causes about the other two. Males me feel old.

2022 started with the death of Sidney Poitier, not Bob Saget @skieurope, but those seem to come in 3’s.
I am shocked he was older than me (by 3 years - but I would have guessed him younger!).
Very sad - episode upon episode of Full House was played in our house.

Performed in Ponte Verdra Beach, Florida (East Coast outside of Jacksonville,Florida / Sawgrass Country Club) the night before being found in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carleton in Orlando.
Orlando is a bit over 2 hours’ drive from Ponte Vedra Beach.
Very sad.
Appeared to be a very kind person.
I always wonder when they immediately rule out drug use, but then they say for some celebrities they say tox screen pending, could be a month before it is known. Does anybody know why that discrepancy?
He always seemed like a nice and decent guy

Does “no drug use or foul play” mean suicide is still a possibility? My first thought was heart attack/stroke.
Someone mentioned COVID—If he died of COVID he would not have suddenly dropped dead. There would have been signs at his last show if he felt poorly.

Oof. I hadn’t even considered suicide.
I read his last IG post, posted last night, not even 17 hours from when news broke of his death. It was upbeat and he seemed to be loving being back doing stand up.
My first thought was accidental suicide - think Michael Hutchence (INXS frontman) - I’m trying not to get censored here…
…I wonder what would have prompted someone to go into his hotel room less than 17 hours after he was well enough to post a pretty lengthy post. Did he call someone asking for help? Did he try to call? I am glad to hear that at least currently there’s no thoughts of drugs playing a part.
His sisters both died very young too, one of an aneurysm, and another of a disease he raised money for. A cardiac event is not necessarily related to weight, my friends who have genetically high cholesterol look great and are in shape. Hope it was just natural causes for his family’s sake.

Housekeeping - it was a Ritz Carlton. Totally normal for someone to have tried his room, or someone might have called the desk when they couldn’t reach him. It was late afternoon when he was found.
He was on a comedy tour & may have been late for his next show.
