<p>I am getting a book allowance as part of the BK scholarship so how do I receive my book allowance? Does it come as a check before the semester starts or do I buy the books and then get reimbursed?</p>
<p>Your scholarship will be posted to your student account (<a href="http://www.testudo.umd.edu/Financials.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.testudo.umd.edu/Financials.html</a>) along with all your charges sometime during the summer. Afterwards, you should see a negative balance in your account (which means you owe a negative balance). At that point, if you have direct deposit set up, the University will deposit it into your checking account, if not, you can either his "Request Refund" and they'll process and mail your check, or you can just wait and they'll do it automatically. It's more like a reimbursement since a lot of people buy their books before the semester starts.</p>
