Book on Sororities

I know that Sororities and the Greek system are a sore subject for some here on CC, but I just finished reading Pledged, the secret life of sororities by Alexandra Robbins. Robin went "undercover" at several sororities to write about the experiences of several sorority sisters and she also did what appears to be a fair amount of in-depth research on sororities. This is a very interesting book, worth reading if your daughter is considering a sorority or you just want to read one take on the sorority life. I am sure many will not find the book to their liking but I found it fascinating as it helped me to understand part of the appeal of sororities for some girls. But, it still gave me a night mare or two (literally) because it brought up some long repressed memories of "girl groupdom" for me personally. But still, worth reading.

I attended SMU in the 70's. She was pretty much on the money from my perspective. Apparently it hasn't changed a lot.

I'm a HS senior and I read it... good read. Not sure if the stuff that goes on is nationwide but still somewhat insightful.
