I am wondering what is the difference between paper back and hard cover.

The school gave me the ISBN number 9780078746376.

When I went to BooksPrice - Book Price Comparison - Compare Book & Textbook Prices

It gave me the following edition:

0028283783 Hardcover
0078245338 Paperback
0078772370 Hardcover

the price difference between 9780078746376 and 0078245338 is $70.

Want to see your opinion.

paperbacks rip easier than hardcovers, will not try to stop water if your textbook somehow falls into a puddle, generally much cheaper to produce = cheaper when sold, yeah.

the ripping part is especially true for books as big as textbooks, because when you rip the cover, you've basically chained yourself to witnessing the rather fast decaying process of the entire rest of the textbook.
then again if you're only using it for on year, paperbacks aren't bad. one of my textbooks is a paperback (first time i've had that in my life) and it just feels much cleaner and nicer.

My book bag sees a lot of rough action hehe I always prefer hardcover because they are more rigid and last longer. I loathe paperback anything hehe
