Books...bookstore, or from a student?

i just got textbooks for my classes… total $150, saved a TON of money… originally each book would be about $110+ each. I got them NEW off ebay from different sellers. I also checked amazon, but I found better deals elsewhere.

If I bought books from the U Bookstore (Im going to UW!) it would have cost a lot -__-

I just bought my textbooks off of Amazon. My college was charging an average of 150 per book and I needed 3 of them. Got all 3 of them from Amazon for about $240

Well yes long, it isn’t free in that you are paying money…but you are paying no extra.

Anyway, the question isn’t online or bookstore. I have already determined that online isn’t any cheaper than the bookstore. The question is student or bookstore.

Yeh speedsolver the University Bookstore is freaking expensive

Another thing you CAN sell back books used for class even if they came from online :P

Also, if you’re not doing textbook problems for homework in class, buy an earlier editions. Earlier editions on Amazon typically sell for anywhere from $0.01 - $20.00 (+3.99 shipping), even for science/nursing books. Newer editions usually have the same text, but different homework problems.

half.com is extremely cheap.

I give up. This thread has been complete hijacked with people telling me to buy online. I have already looked at the options online, and it isn’t any cheaper than the bookstore bundle. I am NOT buying online

really? have you broken the cost down completely?

^^Then what do you want from us? You say there’s 6 books in the bundle + some “free” nursing subscription. Take the prices your friend is offering you, add them up. Take the remaining books and find the best prices available. Add these two values together. Add the value of Mosby’s consult (if you actually need it). If there is an intrinsic value to the ebook editions, add how much that’s worth to you (I would value an ebook at 0 if you already have the text edition…but you decide this)

Is this less or more than the cost of the bundle? If it’s less, buy from your friends. Otherwise, buy the bundle. End of story, because buyback options are not an issue (since you’re planning to keep the books). Why is this hard for you to figure out? And how do you expect us to solve your problem if we don’t know the prices your friend offers?

You don’t need to “give up,” because you’ve obviously given up on rational thought long ago.

^ Actually, it’s completely rational to want to spend less on my books. Since it’s not any cheaper online, not buying online is the rational decision.

It’s rational to want to spend less on your books. It’s irrational to come online and ask for advice when you’ve already made up your mind.

It makes you look like a bit of an attention whore tbh.

Ask her how much she wants for all the books together, then search amazon, add it all up and see which is cheaper :)
