If you need statistics before college but don't have time to fit AP Statistics into your senior year schedule, are there any good books (or self administered courses) that could be done over the summer to teach yourself statistics?

Thanks

To be honest…

AP Statistics may not end up counting for credit for Math/CS/Engineering majors.

Why?

…because Math/CS/Engineering have to take Calculus-based Statistics which is only offered at the university level.

I see.
Thanks for the info - was really just wanting a way to familiarize oneself with statistics so it would be more familiar at the college level instead of seeing it “cold” for the first time.

You can still get one of those AP Prep books to get the basics of non-Calculus-based Statistics but once a student decides to be a Math/CS/Engineering major, they will have to take something like “Statistics for Engineers” as a junior or senior in college…and the class will want you to derive some of the functions using Calculus concepts.

Colleges do not assume that students have had statistics in high school. As noted above, a math or CS major will typically take a calculus-based statistics course in college, though a high school (AP) level non-calculus-based introduction may be of some help beforehand.

Here are a few introductory statistics books on the web:
