To current students, would it be best to start buying books now if mocha says the Brown bookstore costs more than online? Or should i wait until i get there?

Also, can I mail things to my mailbox even if I am not at Brown yet? Or do you have to do something (clean it out or something, or like sign a waiver idk) before you can mail things?

Check on the 2013 Facebook group. Most everyone has started shipping things to our boxes. Also, don’t get your books until you’re sure of your classes, since you may change your mind once shopping period gets under way.

Agreed with hollyert. I would find the books you want in the Bookstore and get them (do this on day 1 because sometimes they run out) before you do this order them online, and when they start coming in return the books to the b store. Also ALSO sometimes professors change books, or theyll tell you dont really need them. (I wish i would have listened more first semester I could have saved some money). Also sometimes other books are better than others, so if your teacher isnt using a book sometimes you can find the best book there is for that subject. I.e. if I am taking a course on math and my teacher is not using a math book (weird I know) then I could google “whats the best math book” and buy that…
