Boston College -- Priority Filing Date

Hello,

I am applying for need-based financial aid for Boston College (RD) and I am quite worried because I believe I am going to miss the “priority filing deadline” for the documents. I thought I was able to email a PDF copy of the documents, but it turns out that I have to mail them via postal mail. I live abroad so mailing them would take at least 1 week (last time it took a month for me to postal mail something to FAFSA headquarters).
If I miss this “priority filing deadline” will I not be eligible for financial aid? Or will my application be fully considered? I know this was a mistake on my behalf because I did not timely coordinate my deadlines but it seems a bit “extra” to mail documents by postal mail. (I also emailed BC if I could alternatively fax them my documents – no reply yet).

Not to worry. Priority just means that if accepted, you’ll have your financial aid award at at the same time. Otherwise, you might not see a financial aid award until sometime after acceptance. The money will be the same.

Get the docs in the mail. Good luck.
