Boston U for BFA?

Does anyone know anything about this program? I'm curious how good it is. Any comments?

I’d like to know as well. anyone?

We visited this summer before my s applied to schools. Not so impressed, but it may have been the visit we had.

What in particular bothered you? Can you say?

I visited this past fall. Loved the campus and the atmosphere, but the art school didn’t impress me. The deparment is geared towards producing fine artists; it teaches basic skills but is otherwise unhelpful for anyone who wants any other sort of art-related career. The student artwork in the studio spaces and display cases looked amateurish compared to work I’ve seen at other art schools. There are very few people in each major, which leads me to think that there probably aren’t many teachers, either. But because of the small amount of students, the department’s two floors were quite roomy and there was a large amount of studio space for every student entitled to space. Before visiting BU I had only seen art schools in New York City, where buildings are expectedly quite cramped, so I did appreciate that aspect.

To get a real feel for BU’s art school, it’s a good idea to visit it. The school’s website gives off a very different impression than the school itself.

I remember you!!
aren’t you in college by now?
that was two or three years ago I wrote about pre college for junior-senior?
thinking transfering or now you can go out of NY?

Wow, I’m really surprised that you remember me - I’ve been lurking the forum for years but I hardly ever post. I’m not in college yet, decided to take a gap year after high school, so in the fall I was still visiting colleges. Still not quite sure where I’m headed yet but I plan to stick to NYC for college just because it’s a really convenient location, but if I change my mind then I could definitely go to school in other places.

how’s going so far? why did you put off, money or choice of schools?
my kid might need to float around few years.
how do you keep yourself motivated and occupied?
it’s OK if you don’t post answer soon, like couple months or a year.
I got all the time in the world
