*****Boston University Class of 2021 EDII Thread*****

@Asham98 unless you have higher stats or a major award to add in the appeal it will not be reviewed.

@TomSrOfBoston you mean if we got defer, we won’t be review unless we upload some high stats? just asking

@normanf No, that is not what I wrote, please reread my post.

I got defer :(( I can only use this proverb to comfort myself The road to happiness is strewn with setbacks.

@Asham98 they don’t change their decisions, so I wouldn’t write a letter.

I got deferred, does anyone know how many people they accepted?

Also is being deferred necessarily bad… Does anyone know the percentage of deferred students typically accepted in the regular decision pool?

@track99 To your first question, the information provided after release of ED1 indicated they would only be admitting ~250 applicants for ED2. I don’t know how many deferred are accepted in the regular decision pool.

How could we find out how many people got accepted?

Based on the free press article, the math worked out to 274 of the 2039 ED2 apps would get accepted.

http://dailyfreepress.com/2017/01/19/look-incoming-class-2021-early-decision-students/

42% ED acceptance rate for the first early decision round. Not 42% overall ED. If that were the case, 1700+ kids would get accepted and the articles says a total of 1190 from ED1 and ED2 will be accepted. The article jumps around a bit but the numbers seem to be:

~4181 ED 1 and 2 apps (this number is provided in the article
~2142 ED1 apps (this # assumed)
~2039 ED2 apps (this # is provided in the article)

916 of 2142 accepted = 42%
1,190 will enroll from ED1 and ED2
274 slots left to be admitted from ED2 (274/ 2039 = 13%)

3500 freshman class/ 35% enrolled ED1 & ED2 is 1190.

will they release decision today?

@Asham98 thanks you are my hero!! hope you can get in. I think they won’t come out today because I think if the will come out today the will just say that, because

nothing change. BU website back to normal again.

@normanf Will what be released today? EDII decisions are already out and RD decisions will come out about mid-March.

Does anyone have an invitations link on their BU portal?

@nicole1308 congrats to ur acceptance, I also applied to questrom but got deffered :frowning:

@TomSrOfBoston I got deferred to questrom, do you think writing a letter of intent would increase my chance for RD?

Have any of you guys gotten packets in the mail yet?

i have @hskigal

do they send them to international students too
