*****Boston University Class of 2021 EDII Thread*****

Thought i would start one. Please post your stats if you are comfortable doing that

Here are my stats:
GPA: 3.5 (not sure if UW or W- I know its a bit low but my grades have improved significantly. Also, my school counts the high school level math and Latin class I took in 8th grade on my transcript and I had a C and B in those respectively)
AP classes:

  • Sophomore: AP Euro (only ap offered for sophomores at my school)
  • Junior: AP Environmental Science, AP United States History
  • Senior: AP Literature, Advanced Studies in Government (technically not AP Gov but it receives AP credit at my school)
    Honors:
  • Freshman: Biology (this and math were the only honors offered)
  • Sophomore: Literature (one of only 3 honors offered)
  • Junior: Literature (one of only 2 offered
  • Senior: none offered
    ECs and other:
  • Writing Tutor at school
  • American History TA (this and the writing tutor are technically classes at my school but you have to be selected for them and they count as “internship credit”)
  • Dance 2 years
  • volunteered at church teaching sunday school 4 years
  • Girl Scout- secretary of troop in 10th grade, vp of troop 11 and 12 grades
  • volunteer with GS camps 2 years
  • volunteer at local historic park (only started this summer)
  • Theater (actor)
  • NHS
  • History Department Award
  • Sons of the American Revolution Good Citizenship Award
  • worked as a camp counselor at a GS camp over the summer
I’m not sure how much these two things matter but-
    OOS
    female
    white
    attended Fall Visit Day

Here’s hoping we all get in! (And if we don’t, here’s hoping we will get in rd or realize another school is right for us)

BU site shows 15th for decision https://www.bu.edu/admissions/apply/early-decision/

hdlski why do you think the decision will be on 12th/13th ?

Key Dates

Early Decision November 1 November 1 December 15 January 15
Early Decision 2 January 3* January 3 February 15 February 24
*Please note: some merit scholarships require you to apply by December 1.

@vonryan they have yet to actually come out on the 15th. Usually they do 3ish days before, ed1 came out on the 12th, and so did Ed2 last year.

I’m so nervous they are only accepting 274/2039 people who applied for EDII! did anyone see the article? Its so bad

@nicole1308 where’d you read that? that’s so nervewracking

@nicole1308 I saw that too! I’m so scared. What school did you apply to?

The stat that is missing here is those that Applied EDI and then did not enroll. You cannot assume that all enrolled. You can apply EDI and Early Action at other colleges. If you got Early Action decision then you may not accept EDI at BU?. This way more places open up for EDII. Any views on this theory ?

@vonryan ED1 is binding. They cannot not enroll unless they have a financial issue. There is no early action so anyone admitted must enroll.

I am talking about applying early action elsewhere?

While not legally binding breaking an ED agreement says a lot about your moral character. It may also get offers elsewhere rescinded if those schools find out.

ok thanks
