Hey so im a freshmen at Villanova University considering a transfer to BU either next semester, being spring, or next year. . I actually got in when I applied to BU last year and enrolled but a few months later get off the wait list at Villanova and switched schools rather quickly. Now that Ive spent some time here Ive kinda figured that Boston was a much better fit and the decision to come to nova was made more by my parents and guidance counselor than it was by me. I realize that getting in the first time is a good sign but my grades have been kinda shaky thus far this semester and i dont think ill be matching the 3.5 gpa that boston boasts as its average for transfer students. I also did very poorly my last quarter of senior year as i came down with a nearly terminal case of senioritis (came close to not walking at graduation and doing summer school....).
Just needed a place to vent and maybe receive some input, i think that i have a good shot if i get it together and apply at the end of the year but im looking to switch sooner. I really enjoy nova so i would like to leave before i get to attached. BU has a more focused comm program and i see the urban campus and living in boston being a much better experience to look back on.
Thanks

Hey bud, I don’t know if you applied already, but without your stats it’ll be tough to give any real thoughts. If you got in once already they must’ve seen something they liked–albeit it’s always best to be improving rather than the other way around. I think if you show improvement and get close to the transfer gpa that comm has, and write a solid essay, you should have a good shot.
