Boston University vs Cal Poly SLO

Alright so I got into Materials Engineering at Cal Poly and I got into biomedical engineering at Boston University. Boston U has a pretty prestigious Biomedical Engineering program that ranks #8 according to US News for best undergraduate bme program (up there with duke, penn state, MIT, John Hopkins). If I went to Boston University I’d also do pre-med since the courses for bme and pre-med overlap. I’d also have a lot of opportunities to do research within their engineering & school of medicine.

I really like the idea of being in California with the warm weather, but it worries me that since San Louis Obispo is in the middle of nowhere there won’t be much to do. Boston seems a lot more fun in that aspect albeit miserably cold. Also the statistics for what graduate schools people go to from cal poly aren’t that encouraging.

Maybe I have this all wrong, so can someone set me straight on what they think the better program would be. Costs don’t matter at all to my family so try to not be biased based on that.

I am in the exact same boat. I posted a question earlier. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cal-poly-san-luis-obispo/893550-calpoly-boston-u-biomed-eng.html
