I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about the botany major. I know a lot of other schools, especially small colleges like conn, don't offer botany as a major and it is something I'm interested in. How popular is it? Is it a lot different than a biology major? The arboretum sounds impressive.

Thanks

i dont know that much about it, but i do know they have an interesting certification program that makes it pretty unique
Connecticut College Goodwin-Niering Center for Conservation Biology and Environmental Studies
and the research opportunities seem to be pretty outstanding, especially for a small school
Connecticut College : Botany - Student Experience
the few people i knew in the department seemed to really like it, and have excellent relationships with their profs

Thanks for your help

When I visited this center they took us into the botany place. I could tell it was a really big deal there. The college is actually located on a reserve thing or some other 700+acre wildlife thing so they have an "outdoor laboratory"
I found it really interesting, I think theres a whole building dedicated to it.
