I realize this might be a stupid question but if I got a better score on the ACT than on the SAT, do I have to put them both (I won’t be sending in the SAT scores to any school)? It asks what I wish to report but is it a thing where I have to report every test I ever did or do I just put my ACT score?
Thank you!
Only a few schools require a report of every test taken. The only one I’m for sure on is Carnegie Mellon. I know there have been other older threads about this, so maybe a search will turn up some other answers.
You need to spend the time and research the standardized testing requirements for each college you apply to. The answers should be on the admission page. A few school do ask for all testing but for many you can pick and choose which tests to send.
@dreambig55 that makes sense. Also, I did try to search for it but a lot were cases where the subscores did not match up for the tests (better math on ACT and better english on SAT for example. Thank you!
@happy1 so even though I won’t be officially reporting my SAT scores I should still try to see if they want it for self-reporting scores? I know some schools want to see all of your ACT scores or all of your SAT scores but would they ever want both if I’m ? I think I may just be answering my question. Thank you so much for your help (: , as you can tell I am pretty clueless on this whole applying to college adventure
Some schools (not many) require all of your standardized testing (which would include SAT and ACT). You have to read each college’s website to see what is required. If anything is unclear you can contact the admissions offices and ask them directly.
