I've narrowed my choices down to these 3 schools. Any and all commentary would be helpful.

I am a current vassar freshman and have 2 good friends at the other schools you have mentioned

Vassar is definitely the least preppy of the three schools so if you don’t consider yourself very preppy, you may feel more comfortable at vassar. bowdoin and hamilton have significant boarding/private school populations (larger than vassar) so this also may be an issue for you if you, like me, don’t fit into these groups.

Vassar is the biggest of the three schools which was a + for me. It is still small, but not claustrophobic like some other LACs. It also is in the most metropolitan location- NYC is very accessible. Hamilton is really in the middle of nowhere and Bowdoin is in a very pretty area of Maine. If you are interested in off campus opportunities/weekend trips to a city, Vassar is definitely the place for you.

They all are great academically. Vassar is definitely the strongest in theater and dance so if you are interested in this you really can’t beat vassar. the amount of theater that goes on on this campus always amazes me. Vassar’s academics all around are great- I have found the pol sci and history departments to be almost 100% filled with outrageously talented professors. That is pretty hard to beat.

Definitely try to do an overnight at any of the schools if you can. All of them are great schools- it really depends on the feeling you have at them
