I am trying to decide where to apply early decision, and I've narrowed it down to these three, but need some outside advice. Each school has its cons: Bowdoin is a little too small, Middlebury is ridiculously hard for anyone to get into, and Vassar might be too artsy/ liberal for me.

I'm looking for a small liberal arts school with a great art history department and smart but not weirdo kids.

I have good scores and extracurriculars and everything, I just can't decide which school is best. Help, please?

Williams College may be the best for art history/museum curator fields of study. Also you may be able to study at Oxford for a year. Based on your concerns regarding liberalism, Vassar is probably not a good choice for you. FYI Bowdoin's admit rate is lower than Middlebury's.

i agree, if you're looking for a superb art history department, williams is known as the best among LACs. and it's larger than bowdoin. so it may be the solution.

however, i know that the art history program at bowdoin is fantastic. many of my friends were majors and were thrilled by it. and their museum is exceptional.

is the only negative you have about middlebury its difficulty of admittance? that seems odd since bowdoin is just as hard to get into as middlebury. if there are no other negatives, perhaps you take a shot there?

certainly you should just apply to all of them and see where the chips fall. these schools are selective enough that you shouldn't have a first choice going in, otherwise you may end up a little broken hearted, you know?

i say apply to all of them and add williams to the list. if in april you're lucky enough to get into all 4, then ask us again. :)
