I’ve recently been accepted to all three schools, and I have no idea which to choose. I plan on majoring in the Classics (6 years of latin in HS) and Gov, and I’ll probably be picking up a few languages in college as well. I’m an outdoorsy person, sort of athletic but not enough to play a sport (just intramurals). I definitely need somewhere with a vibrant social scene. Any feedback?

Classics and Gov: While Government is an amazing and in-depth major here, Classics is much less common and not the biggest department.

Depends on what languages you are taking up, but Bowdoin has Arabic, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Latin, Greek, Chinese, Japanese, and a couple others. Amherst will have similar languages, but Brown will have more languages and definitely a few unique ones (I believe they have Nordic and other similar languages there).

Outdoorsy, then definitely Bowdoin is the best here. Maine is amazing for outdoor events and the Bowdoin Outing Club (BOC) is one of the best outdoors clubs in the country and most popular club at Bowdoin. Definitely the best at Bowdoin.

Intramurals are common here, you would have a variety to choose from, although Brown may have more activities. Also, Bowdoin’s social scene is amazing most of the year, but does lack some elements of a larger city like Providence. Then again, sometimes bigger cities are not always better.

bowdoins gov department is very strong and respected - stands out among the rest.

you should visit the schools and feel it out, i really didn’t like williamstown MA, its basically one of the most depressing towns i’ve been to. providence and coastal maine are nice
