You've probably read the news that UCI will release another batch towards the end of this week. If you look at last year's thread, you'll see that last year rejections began on the 23rd or so. Given that, I believe it is possible that anyone who hasn't received a decision yet is headed towards rejection.

Obviously, another possibility is that there will be a wave or two before rejection, but I fear the worst may soon be upon us.

Not necessarily. If anyone would like to be pessimistic they can be my guest, but there are still people being accepted even on the last day of notifications. Rejections are more common for UCI admissions than not, but date has nothing to do with it.

There are X acceptances and Y rejections to be given out.
Y>X for UCI.
As the days go by, they hand out more and more acceptances (decreasing X), but hold back on the rejections (keeping Y constant).
As a result, the later the date, the fewer acceptances on offer, but the number of rejections remain constant, thus increasing the odds of rejection with each passing second.

well. Since I got in ucsc which is my top list,I wouldn’t be sad if I got rejected by uci.Of course I’ll be glad if I still have a chance of acceptence. I’m also waiting for ucsb

You guys! Keep your heads up! Remember- wait list is always good (i got into uci from it) and appeal a rejection if you think you should have gotten in!

It’s way to early to start worrying about rejection. Start worrying March 31st. UCI grossly under-admitted last year…so there should be more acceptances this time around Good luck. And if they under-admit this year too, those of you who are waitlisted will probably all get off the waitlist…as UCI has an all-or-nothing policy when it comes to that.

Well, I’m braced. I got into Santa Clara University, a school that I’d probably prefer over UCI anyways, subject to financial award working out (they release those on April 1)
