****brandeis 2021 regular decision thread****

Accepted! And no LCS invite or whatever that is lol

Accepted to Brandeis and W&M!

Son just found out he was accepted. Heā€™s very happy!

Got in!! so happy after four rejections in a row :))

Hey guys. I got waitlisted and Brandeis was my number 1 school. If you arenā€™t interested in the school and you got in, I would be so happy if you could withdraw your application. Iā€™ve been wanting to go there for so long and itā€™s really disappointing to be waitlisted. I want to find out if I got in as soon as possible. I really appreciate it. Thank youā€™

S also got invited to the Justice Brandeis breakfast and QBReC open house.

(FYI Itā€™s on the portal next to the status update)

Accepted! Definitely have to wait till I hear back from the track coach, financial aid people, and my last 4 schools.

Big Congratā€™s to those accepted!! Big hugs to those waitlisted/denied.

Is there a GroupMe chat for those accepted to Brandeis?

@chel17 Thank you! I have no idea what it means but it sounds good LOL  Congrats to your S!!

Accepted! Hopefully the financial aid/possible merit aid comes in the mail soon, Iā€™m super curious. Congrats to everyone accepted!

waitlisted! super confused because I didnā€™t send my SAT scores or another equivalent (graded paper, etc) AND i forgot to submit my teacher recommendations, so two (major) things were missing. anyone have any idea as to why i wouldā€™ve been waitlisted? shouldnā€™t that have been a dealbreaker/rejection?

@gk1733 I guess they liked your essay(s) and GPA!

Accepted!
4.1 GPA and 33 ACT

@tennisplayer1254 As a mom it breaks my heart to see posts like yours. Over the last week I have seen many of these posts in particular with the CA UC system which seems to be completely impacted and have huge issues (kids with 4.0 UW 4.5 W GPAā€™s and 1500 and up SATā€™s rejected from all UCā€™s applied to. A couple of suggestions which you may have already pursued. From what I have seen with our S the schools really want to see demonstrated interest. Have you visited, have you interviewed? You might try calling the admissions department and asking them for color on why you were waitlisted. Tell them and reaffirm with a note for your file that Brandeis is your top choice and has been for XXX years and tell them why. Tell them that if you are accepted, you will be 100% enrolling. If there are any special awards or achievements that you have had since you applied then make them aware of those. If you have any special talents or abilities or passions that would add to the school find a way to make them aware of that. (As an example, S had a friend last year waitlisted at UCLA-her top choice. She had a big music background and was willing to make a formal commitment to play Tuba in the Marching band-something the marching band needed. With help from her Music director-by of contacting the Music director at UCLA-she was taken off the waitlist

Others-please do take the request seriously to withdraw once you are sure you will not enroll if Brandeis does not end up as your top choice. It can make a difference I think in terms of the timing for folks that may come off the waitlist

Just came back from a food pantry board meeting. That was an excruciating wait, but Iā€™m in and very happy about it!!! I have a 32 ACT, 3.99 unweighted gpa, and 4.37 gpa.

Although I am very happy to have been accepted, I will not be sending my deposit to Brandeis so thereā€™s a spot free already! I hope everything works out for all of you waitlistees and I know exactly how sucky this feels, but never give up hope. In the end, you will probably fall in love with the college you go to no matter what.

accepted! (3.6uw, 4.1w, 35 act)

Hi, I was accepted for the Midyear program (4.15 GPA and 32 ACT; Biochemistry + Music Performance). Honestly, Iā€™m thrilled to be accepted into my dream school, but Iā€™d much rather do fall and have never even considered spring. I sent an email asking if I could be put on a waitlist for fall or reconsidered, but do you guys think I have a chance? Also, I was nominated for the Leonard Bernstein Fellowship back in February, and I was wondering if anyone got accepted into that already (or if it comes out later). Thanks guys, congrats to everyone who made it and good luck for those who didnā€™t.

Accepted woo! Now just waiting to hear from Vassar and Wesleyanā€¦
