****brandeis 2021 regular decision thread****

So Emory and Brandeis on the same day. Great.

I’m in the same boat lol

I received an invitation to apply to the QBREC program in Feb. This means a likely acceptance, correct?

International here, 1520 SAT, Toefl 116 but only self-reported as they chose to waive me the requirement due to me spending a year in the US where I got A+ in English 11 Honors. My UW GPA in the US was 4.0, Polish is very good too but doesn’t convert in any way. I’m really hoping Brandeis will both accept me and make it affordable to attend, I can’t pay the full price  Good luck to everyone on Thursday!

@PradaPowder There was discussion related to this earlier on this thread I believe. The thinking is that yes invitation to QBREC or the LSC program is equivalent to a “likely” letter. While this is speculation, there is some history that it appears that most/all of those invited to QBREC or LSC in prior years were later offered admission. When admission results come out later this week it would be useful if those posting in addition to their stats also post if they had been invited to apply to either of these programs.

I like Brandeis haha. They’ve removed the withdraw application link from the applicant portal. So you’re for sure getting a decision

There was someone saying on this forum that the Brandeis decisions normally came out on March 16 or 17 in the previous years ? Wonder why it has been delayed this time though

Do any of you know if some form of scholarship will be given based on purely merit irrespective of parents’ income?

My S got invited to apply without an application fee and then got invited to apply for LSC and so we are eagerly waiting on the decision and hoping he will get some form of scholarships

@DIBM Brandeis does have merit scholarships, so if your S is an outstanding applicant, he has a chance at getting merit aid.

I’m really sorry for asking this because I am sure it has already been asked (first time on cc), but I was wondering if the LSC invitation is at least a “likely” letter. I received the invite on the 28th of Feb and I’ve been making sure to keep close contact. I actually had assumed they would reject me so I never really showed vested interest, but it would seem silly for them to nominate a kid for a special program if they never had the intent of even accepting the student RD. Lmk what you guys think and if I end up getting the good news thursday ill post stats and stuff for future reference. Thanks!

@mm0499 Hey! I got an LSC invitation too and I tried to find out what it means. People on here seemed to think that it was a good sign but no one really said anything conclusive. We’ll know pretty soon, though

@munit123 I applied RD and was invited to apply for LSC but my “withdraw application” option is still on my portal as of this evening
it is weird that yours is gone ??

My ‘‘withdraw application’’ option is gone too

What are QBREC and LSC?

@tula32 Two programs at Brandeis that some applicants were invited to apply to. I don’t know a lot about them, but these links give you a pretty good overview.

Do you guys have the ‘‘withdraw application’’ option on your portals?

I’m just a bit worried that it might be a sign of rejection.

or it might be just the portal update. This may simply mean that they made a decision and you can no longer withdraw the application because they already processed it! They have an IT department! :))

mines gone

Withdraw application button is still on our S’s portal He was also invited to apply for the LSC program like @kodiakandrosita
