Brandeis - a respected school?

oh oh history class and the brandeis brief!!! that's all i know

my sister graduated from Brandeis. She absolutely loved the school. She has since graduated from the #1 doctoral program in her field, and the name "Brandeis" on her degree sure didn't hurt her chances of getting into that school.

I'm a senior this year applying to Brandeis. I have visited the school quite a few times and really liked it. I know a lot of people that go to Brandeis and everyone I've spoken to really likes it. Regarding the campus, I actually thought it was really nice. It's mostly modern snazzy-looking buildings with a castle in the middle. There's also plenty of grassy areas which I liked. I don't know why people don't like it. It's location, right outside of Boston, is hard to beat. Brandeis is a young school so not everyone has heard of it, but its grad school school placement is very good. Academically, it's very strong in fields. So yeah...I really liked it.

not to mention your knowledge of the brandeis brief will be unmatched

You should see the campus in the early-mid fall--beautiful autumn leaves

I visited the campus over the summer and it looked pretty nice to me. There was nothing spectacular (although I liked the castle) but everything was well-maintained and clean. Some of the buildings aren't aesthically pleasing, as others have said.

and in the autumn, they offer an accelerated course honing in on the brandeis brief.

For some reason people don't seem to give Brandeis enough credit. It's a very good school. True, the campus is no beauty, but it really isn't bad. The only reason other campuses are so nice is because they were foudned back when land was cheap. Brandeis was founded like 50 years ago, so that just wasn't possible. It's a train ride away from Boston and the campus is better than msot schools, although its certainly at the lower end of top schools

Brandeis is a superb school which is quite competitive, not only for admissions, but in placing it's graduates in both jobs and grad/professional schools. We visited this past summer and my D fell in love with the school and the campus. We thought it was lovely with many little very special "spots" we discovered by walking around. The curriculum is rigorous, but provides the flexibility she needs to double major in two very different areas. Brandeis is very high on her list of colleges.

ok, this might sound wierd, but I hear from many people that the fairer sex is not as attractive at Brandeis. Normally I would regard this as pure bs, but since I've heard it from several people, Im beginning to worry (because social life matters to me as well). Can someone who went to Brandeis comment on this?

Can anyone read my message?

yes, that is a common concern.
I don't go to Brandeis, but I know someone who does, and he says that the rumor is true. The girls are, in general, not very attractive. What effect this has on social life, I'm not sure.

For me, personally, this really makes a difference. While I perceive myself as an intellectual guy, I deeply care about social life as well - social life meaning dating more than anything else. It may sound foolish to some, but I strongly believe that the first steps towards marriage are oftentimes taken during undergard - and I'd like some girl (with all due respect to all those who don't answer to this prerequisite) who's pleasing to look at.

Anyone else out there who can confirm/refute ay_caramba's claim?

well im not sure about that, but because of the brandeis brief class, you will be studying the brandeis brief consistently and you won't have time to think about that.

oh yeah, and my friend also says that he's memorized the brandeis brief and they recite it every day before class. Instead of playing drinking games, they see how many shots someone can take before they make a mistake in the recitation of the brief; most people pass out before they make a mistake. He says that about 87% of the male population and 65% of the female population has REPORTED having a sexual fantasy involving the brief; the actual numbers are probably much higher.

<rolls eyes=""> get over it trader</rolls>

what is the brandeis brief?

What is the brandeis brief! How dare you ask?

Actually, it's just something I remember from US 1. Not even sure I remember exactly what it was. I think it was some case with women's working rights and safety or something. I actually hate history and just wanted to annoy people.

anyone else?

i think you can just research the brandeis brief if you wanna know more

"I'd like some girl (with all due respect to all those who don't answer to this prerequisite) who's pleasing to look at."

I suppose the girls who attend Brandeis might feel the same way about boys...who knows whether or not you fill this prerequisite, orrican? Can you spell shallow?
