Incollege, your results are actually skewed to a few schools, the law schools that have disclosed their profiles have the undergrad colleges that are getting the biggest life. Look at the Univ of Chicago and Northwestern, Northwestern is the top feeder at both. Instead of using Northwestern and U of Chicago law schools, and plug in UPenn and Cornell, your results will be different.

it's all regional. However, when you just use Harvard and Yale Law schools, Cornell has much better results. Many students from Cornell are from the east and do not apply to law schools in the midwest, hence, the small size of cornell students in those 2 midwest law schools. Also, interesting enough, with Wall Street Journal Feeder List, it is quite interesting that if you replaced the U of Chicago Law School with that of another school, Northwestern's feeder ranking would have dropped a ton. The last time I checked, I remember seeing they played around 70 odd students in the top programs, without the U of Chicago law school being used, that number drop down to around 40. Then, their feeder ranking would go down by about 10 points.

Jonri,

I agree that it was unfair that incollege88 was using the east coast LS. However even if you look at the list from chicago/northwestern law schools, WashU is still surprisingly not found anywhere.

but Sam Lee, as you can see a lot of schools have a disproportional # of students in the different areas. Like Northwestern is the #1 feeder at the U of Chicago law school, #1 at Northwestern Law, however, when it comes down to the other law school, it is just not the case.

collegekid88,

you might have misunderstood my post. i agree with you saying how it's regional and that schools like washu are not expected to be well-represented in LS schools on the east caost. i was just saying washu was surprisingly not found on the chicago/northwestern's list even though st. louis is in the midwest and only 4 hours drive from chicago.

I 100 percent agree with you on that. WUSTL clearly does a herendous job with placing their kids. IDK what is up with that at all. All I know is that I would not dish out 40 Gs a year to attend WUSTL when it clearly has horrible grad placement. I mean, do the kids at WUSTL not apply to these top law schools, I mean, I am baffled. Despite having similar respect as WUSTL, schools like Emory even have better placement!!
