I am REALLY trying hard to get my math score to a 700+ for the Oct. 9th SAT. Right now i'm scoring between 600-650 in the math section, and I just can't get it any higher. I am starting to panic as Oct. 9th gets closer and closer so I've been taking practice tests from the CB online course/BB for 3-4 hours a day. The last test I took I got a 640 on with 43 correct 2 incorrect and 9 omitted. I am running out of time on the tests, and when I do manage to get to the last problems they are very difficult for me. So here are my questions, what is the best way for me to become faster at solving the easier problems? Methods? strategies? anything? / What's the most effective way to improve my ability to answer the "hard" questions. Should I just review a bunch of them? ??? Thanks for all/any help!

hey, i have a similar problem. Youve prbally mastered all the east, medium questions, and it’s just th ehard one’s that are annoying. Well, for me, i find that after going over tests there are usually a couple of hard Q’s which were not actually hard, but since i barely looked at them i couldn’t realize that. And that happens in almost every test- i look back and go “hey, wait! i know how to do question 19, that’s so easy!”. So, i would try looking over the hard questions to see if u have a chance, if u dont forget about it and use time on other q’s, but if u do, it’s worth it to put in the time and effort cause one hard question per section can push u from a 640 to 670.

Many people with the similar scores have the same problem as you do. It has been discussed below although you raised some new questions not covered in the post.

Get a barron’s book specialized for math, or “acing the SAT I math” I was scoring 600-650 also and in about 2 weeks I raised my score from 600-650 to 750-800. Just memorize the books they give examples and problems. “acing the SAT I math” is a better book I believe to start with because it goes OVER EVERYTHING that is possibly on the test honestly all the concepts. Barrons is specifically made for the harder problems which really helps polish off your score. If you can devote an hour or two each day like going over 2 or 3 sections in each, you should be able to easily get your score up. The thing is practice pratice practice is a good method, but one needs to have teaching and understanding before that step.
