What does it take to land a job as a wall street analyst if you're attending a non target school? I know its tough but there are people who have done it and I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out. I'm talking about BBs like GS and JP Morgan. While I'm applying to all the top target schools on the east coast there's a good chance that I'll get a scholarship from CUNY or SUNY. Hence, this long winded question. A distant friend at Baruch got 10 interviews, aced all of them, the interviewers fell in love with him (he was part of Baruch college's highly selective career program) and is now having trouble choosing one from all the job offers he got. Can anyone tell me (roughly at least) what is required of an undergrad attending a non target school?
TIA!

High GPA

Great interview skills

Personal relationships with senior bankers or clients (obviously not necessary or always possible)

Other than that, good work experience and ECS with leadership roles can help.
