Breaking into Investment Banking

I am curious to know how Dartmouth compares to other ivies and ivy-calibur schools in regard to job placement at bulge-bracket investment banking institutions? Also what banks consistently recruit at Dartmouth and have good placement rates?

Dartmouth is widely considered to be amongst the best at placing its students on Wall St. GS, MS, JPM, the works all recruit at Dartmouth.

In terms of job placement, most companies that recruit at Dartmouth will be from Boston, especially consulting firms, BCG, McKinsey, etc. Most ibanks from NYC do recruit at Dartmouth, especially the bulge bracket ones with the resources to send recruiters out and to pay for candidates to fly into the city; GS, Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan, Merrill, etc always hire a few dozen each year combined. To be honest though, you will have a harder time finding placement into boutique firms in NY, as they tend to have limited resources and recruit from nearby schools like Columbia and NYU. However, you can get around that problem if you are willing to spend more time looking for postings and willing to pay your own way for interviews.

As for the Dartmouth brand, it will as likely get you an interview as a Harvard, Yale, Princeton name.

Its really really strong. For the big prestigious firms its up there with Princeton and Harvard, probably slightly above Yale and Columbia.
