Since you are from MD you should visit James Madison in VA. It is not too far from home and you can pursue VP and MusEd. I am not sure if it is a double major or not, but I know MusEd students who have added on VP coursework and who have gone on to top MM VP programs.

On a side note, if you want to pursue opera, you will want to continue to develop your acting skill :-)

It is possible to do a dual degree in VP at CIM and get your Music Ed degree from Case Western, but it is not at all easy (although the physical plants of the schools makes the actual distance between classes easy) because of the sheer amount of work required for the VP degree.
I would really suggest that you check out WCC. Although the music ed program there can be classed as brutal, you are very well prepared for teaching and their grads are in much demand.

The biggest concern I see, is that for many of these schools, you have less than 1 month to make and submit your prescreen tapes (and in some cases, your application). Since each school has their own requirements, you need to get moving…and quick!

I would suggest picking your top 5-8 schools and seeing what their requirements are, then go from there. Good Luck!
