Bringing an Instrument to College?

yea, gibson acoustics are really expensive. id say buy it if youre really good at the guitar. if not you can always buy a taylor, like me, or an ovation, olympia, etc... oh yea i also own an ovation forgot mention that over the pm.

there's nothing worse than a mediocre guitarist. there's definitely a difference between someone who "plays the guitar" and someone who's an actual musician. haha my boy is the former.

i wouldnt call myself a musician, but i play lots of instruments, i.e trumpet, a little bit of the piano, drums, guitar, etc.. what if i was a mediocre guitarist leah? hmm?

actually i hate people who try to learn led zep's stairway to heaven. I. HATE. THEM.

i generally feel like people who played other instruments (i.e. trumpet) before picking up the guitar are better players. also, they can read actual music! not tabs!
but my strong opinions on this subject are just because i'm around musicians constantly because i do colorguard. i'm like the least musical person ever, so i spin a flag/rifle/sabre and dance :)

woah... i started playing trumpet first and have been playing for 8 years, and then i started guitar 3 years ago. I think i have become a better guitar player b/c of the work/practice ethic I've learned from playing the trumpet, plus all of that music theory stuff. I' m bringing my guitar not to entertain or bother people, but as a stress releaser; I'd go crazy w/o my six-string!

I generally find that girls who have played brass or woodwind instruments (i.e. flute) are better at giving--wait, what?

I played piano since I was six until I left for college. I find that 99% of people trying to show-off playing any sort of instrument (mostly guitar) suck donkey dork. When people try to show-off their skills (or lack thereof), I have no tolerance for their incompetencies.

lol it was in the corner of the room, me and my friend were playing and he stepped.. backwards. == into the guitar... its not like my friend was playing the guitar and we were like "**** your guitar playing sucks KICK!" i didn't step on it, my other friend did... >< i know very bad very bad..

i started off with piano, then classical guitar, trumpet, drums. i just like to play and i feel really proud when i play something that sounds somewhat decent. the girls are a bonus but not the reason why i started.

and i only did the open mic cause people made me.
