British "Prep" Schools

I am interested if anyone has considered any British boarding schools instead of/along with American ones?

BTW, I put prep in quotes because a Brit prep school is for those between 8 and 13.

Yes, I attended one for a year on exchange with the English Speaking Union, when I was in BS here in the States. I investigated them for my children recently (and I also live in DC at the moment, so if you want to PM, pls do so). British public schools – a term somewhat out of fashion these days – have a lot to offer. Financial aid can be difficult, if that’s important (it was for us). Cheers!

fif believes that British Public Schools still employ flogging as punishment.
Tom Brown’s School Days and all that…

fif is horribly mistaken. In fact these days British Public schools are probably safer than American boarding schools.

Are you sure? Just the other day fif watched “Goodbye Mr. Chips” and it seemed that flogging was still bsing used.

fif are you just being sarcastic or do you seriously think this is true?

The Bitish Sedbergh is also very safe, and very happy!

I’m sure a British school is safer than an American school, seeing as how Great Britain is easily 100 times safer than the United States…
