Thanks for posting (I’m away so haven’t gotten my latest issue.) I have complete faith in Ronan Farrow’s thoroughness and fairness in his investigations, so I will read this with interest.
Editing to add: just read it–chilling. I’m not arguing with those of you who have personal experiences of needing to help a family member, but there is an abundance of evidence that this is not that. You are not making millions a year controlling your child’s career and every life choice. There is an enormous space for corruption here, and to those who don’t think that judges would make bad decisions, I’d say–look around: terrible judicial decisions happen every. single. day.

This is my biggest issue with conservatorships. The more someone fights, the more it costs, x2 or x3 when you are paying for the conservator’s attorneys, too. It is financially devastating to the one supposedly being protected.
Her attorney is supposed to have been court appointed, so that makes me skeptical re: the theory he is in on it. But he is still making a lot of money. Everyone’s attorneys fees have to be approved by the court before they can be paid from Britney’s money. Her finances have to be so complex to make it hard to know what is conservatorship money or expenses and what isn’t.

I challenge anyone here with a career, where you are supporting yourself, to say that you would he happy to be in a conservatorship where someone else controlled everything you did while charging you to fund the legal battle to keep you in that conservatorship, all while giving you a weekly allowance.

I get that mentally ill people may need someone to look after their health and financial affairs since they are incapable of doing so. Perhaps, at one time, that was the case with Britney Spears. Perhaps, she still suffers in some degree with mental health issues.
But this conservatorship, which was meant as a temporary device, has been corrupted by the very people who were supposed to be protecting her.
Long past time for a full evaluation of whether is should stand and/or whom should be her representative.

Finally, some security people and dressers, etc. seem to be speaking up, despite non disclosure agreements. Money and control.
