Brown and I-banking?

I am leaning toward ED Brown, but I was worried about a Econ degree from Brown in terms of bulge bracket I-bank recruiting?
I have heard that Dartmouth has an overwhelming edge when it come to the Street.
Could anyone tell me more about this?

Dartmouth has an amazing presence on the street, but Brown absolutely does well.

At one point we were the number 1 recruits for Goldman Sachs.

It doesn't matter, any ivy can lead you pretty easily to i-banking, choose the school that you prefer.

Both are fine, but I'd say Dartmouth has an edge. I also wouldn't characterize it as leading you "pretty easily." You have to work to get a position as a summer analyst or new hire, and then you also have to work once you're there (unless you're just going to be a money monkey who works as an analyst for 1 year then leaves).

Poster, why is it that you feel you must find an argument with absolutely everything that Jason writes? He is obviously better informed than you are, as he is a Brown student and you are not. Please pick your battles! You hurt any credibility you might have in this incessant sniping.

Blah blah blah, I'm a member of crew that needs to make everyone who does finance feel better about themselves, blah blah blah...

Lots of people work on Wall Street and in particular do i-banking from out of the Ivy League. Like anything else, you need the grades, the drive, and the ethic, and while the field is competitive, it's a field with considerable recruitment out of all the Ivy League schools.

If I-banking is what you want to do, any of the Ivy League schools will provide you with a great opportunity to do so, though of course, as with anything in life, you must cease that opportunity and make the most with it.

Listen, for I-banking, it's that Ivy tag that'll help you more than anything else. Brown or Dartmouth, it won't matter...take your pick!

i sure hope you are right, tetrisfan. because my parents aren't shelling out $$$ for grad school, so I have to get a decent job after graduation. Even though i think i will go for one of those one-year European MBA things, they still cost major bucks.
