It’s kind of confusing though. …I’m an international student so the aid part is need aware. I filed a non tax filer statement about a week ago. It’s kind of wierd
If you’re international that might be different. I have no idea how that works. Don’t set your hopes on it though. Just give them what they requested and hope for the best! Good luck! I hope you get it!
Thanks @mjstewart1244
People in my school keep asking me where I’m going next year, and I always say I haven’t heard back yet. I just want to jump and scream and say I got into Brown (which I have to some) but I’m still not 100% about Brown. Anyone else in the same boat, meaning they either are sick of everyone asking or just want to know for sure where they will be going next year?
@tuty143 all my teachers keep asking me if I’ve heard back yet (from Brown/other schools of that nature) and it’s actually really stressful because they all kinda expect me to get in and if I don’t now I feel like I’ll be letting everyone down lol
but yeah people keep asking me and it’s actually making me even more anxious for decisions to come out
19 days, 20 hours 15 minutes, and 50 seconds. WE ARE IN THE HOME STRETCH
I’ve never wanted and waited so hard in my entire life. lol
I just got out of rehearsal, and the ENTIRE time I was thinking, “Huh. Wonder if I can find a theater to play at where ever I go.” My life is extremely anti-climatic at the moment.
@tuty143 - Enjoy the attention. Providence, although small ain’t SD, so you will get none. Being # 1 at your school may mean a great deal and teachers want their students to do well and go places. Having Brown in your pocket is a blessing; treasure it. Come 3/31/16, it may be 1 / 8 or 1 / 1. Regardless look at it as if it is gold, because it is. What else do you have on your plate and what would it take to decide not to go to Brown?
Wait, so results come out at 5 on the 31st?
@yalebound2020 I do look at is as a treasure, I never said otherwise. But I know that not every school may fit an applicant perfectly so depending on the decisions come 31st I will be deciding, although I still feel like Brown will be my fit. Also, I never said I wanted the attention. Have you never been to high school before? Everyone, and I mean everyone, asks their peers “Have you decided where you are going?” It’s how you make small talk. And saying I “won’t get any attention anymore” well guess what. I didn’t get any in South Dakota and I don’t expect any later because that’s not what I’m about. I suggest you go back to the yale thread where you can continue your passive aggressive rants with others. This thread is not for people to tear others down, but to build them up and act as a support system.
@kunchandak Yup! 5 EDT. All Ivies will be releasing the 31st.
@yalebound2020 Sorry to intrude, but @tuty143 isn’t asking for attention. It makes no difference where she came from; all that matters is that she got into Brown. South Dakota ain’t as small as you make it out to be. (Yes, they only have one House rep, but regardless, it’s not like she is in class with two others.) Being #1 is still an accomplishment, whether she is 1 of 890, or 1 in 30. She has worked hard for her achievements, and it would be best if you were to not bash them because she’s from a smaller state.
A gentle reminder that we are all (for the most part) on the same boat here. Many of us do not know where we are going yet, and it would be in our best interest to become a supportive community rather than trying to play down someone else’s accomplishments.
@kunchandak I think so!
There are multiple factors that come in to play when reaching a final decision as to which school you will finally commit to (Eg special academic programs, research & fellowships opportunities, financial aid package, weather, student to teacher ratio, etc, etc).
I have received 4 LLs and I can see myself very happy at any of them (or others that may come 3/31 which is why I applied to them) however, personally, financial aid package will mostly drive final selection.
Let’s be more tolerant towards (@tuty143) each other and celebrate each other’s accomplishments (at least allow others to rejoice without negative sentiment). We all worked hard to even have a shot at these magnificent opportunities… If they actually come, in my view, they are BLESSINGS.
Oh aii, thanks guys @schroscat and @tuty143
@IfnousWHO - It’s not intolerant at all. She said “I just want to jump and scream and say I got into Brown (which I have to some) but I’m still not 100% about Brown.” I simply stated that if people ask it is simply because they care. Nothing else.
@IfnousWHO - Same here. People ask me “why do you have to wait until 4/1/16 if you have X acceptances to major Universities… " Simple: I want to see ALL of the options in front of me, discern between them and make the best choice I can.” I could have been done 12/15 but I want to make sure that I make the best possible choice under the circumstances. I take nothing for granted. They are all Blessings!
17 days, 19 hours 41 minutes, 32 seconds until decisions are released!
@tuty143 glad I’m not the only one w a countdown lol
