**Brown Class of 2020 RD applicant thread**

I applied to PLME.

PLME applicant here as well.

So I heard there are only 17 PLME accepted students so far from ED. How many spots do they typically offer?

@piedpiper72 I sent a resume. I included a more in-depth description of activities, included extra contact information, skills, contact information for references, and awards. I took a more workplace/professional description of my activities.

@Googlest FYI. ~90 spots:
“Program in Liberal Medical Education (PLME): Of 2,216 applicants, 90 students were admitted to PLME, a 4.1-percent admission rate. The PLME is an eight-year program leading to both a bachelor’s and an M.D. degree.”

T-minus 89 days and counting…

`@icantdance 89 days too many

89 days?! Nooooooooo! Oh well… It will be March 31st eventually

Can anyone tell me how long after submitting application do you recieve an email from Brown? My D submitted a wek ago, no email, no nothing.

@Lindagaf FYI: “Brown Account activation information is emailed to the applicant 2 to 3 weeks after submission of the Common App.”

Thank you!

Hey guys! Submitted my app on Dec. 28, and I just got an email today saying that I’ll get my BrownAccount information in another email in two to three weeks…It also said something about an alumni interview… Does everyone have to do this interview? Or has anyone gotten this email yet too?
Thanks!

@fabes1998 I don’t think interviews are required, but it almost certainly wouldn’t hurt to do one. I did my interview about three weeks ago, but then again my app’s been in since mid-November, lol

Are there any interview opportunities for international students?

@fabes1998 I just got that email too, and I submitted on the 24th!

They aren’t required, but I think the general idea is that if you get an opportunity to interview, you should take it…and someone else on here mentioned that if you outright turn down an interview, it looks bad (I don’t know how factual that is though).

Brown tries to interview as many people as possible but can’t always do everyone, so getting offered one/not getting offered one doesn’t mean anything about your application.

Thanks for the info!

@DefineHuman: Yes, Brown does its best to offer interviews to international students as well. If you live in a location with lots of alumni, it may be in person - otherwise it could be via Skype.

Ah that’s great. Might have a shot at this after all.

I submitted on Dec 23 and don’t have BrownAccount info. Three weeks from that day is this Wednesday, so I’ll email them Thursday if I still don’t have it. Has anyone who submitted around the same time gotten their BrownAccount info?

@c777123 check your promotion, junk or spam folders. My notice was in my promotion folder for a week before I realize it.
