SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO ACCEPT WAIT LIST
@mycollegeplan1 most likely! still want to visit though - they all have very, very different vibes and cultures. (lol @ my username, i made this account in total shock post-mit decision)
How does Brown inform students of their decision?
RE:waiting list
Go to ur application on brown’s portal- scroll down - and choose whether u wanna stay on WL or withdraw - submit
@mitoops Really nothing to debate. MIT if science or engineering. Brown for the humanities…
waitlisted
ACCEPTED. Guess I’m Brown class of 2020!
@mycollegeplan1 I meant public.
Accepted!! So happy!! But no financial aid so… :’(
Reject.
Although I would consider my stats, EC and essays to be good, applying to a school as crazily selective as Brown would always be also a matter of luck. Being Chinese also really doesn’t help.
However, I have enjoyed this application process and this great community on CC.
I will be going to UMich, which is also an excellent school. I will work hard my first year and apply to Brown again as transfer. After all, I’m not just going to give up my dream school.
This might be my last post on CC. I want to take this chance to sincerely congratulate those of you who are going to Brown. As cliche as it is, I still want to reiterate that bright future is still ahead of all of you who were sadly rejected.
Last but definitely not least, to people like me who will be future transfer applicants: good luck! When reality doesn’t match your ambition, change not year ambition, change the reality.
Daughter rejected - but has great credentials and was accepted to four other schools honors programs so now that this is over - very excited for the next part of her journey! Been fun on CC and good luck to all - Signing off :)>-
@RightHand Here’s the results thread. Please post here, I’m curious as to why you weren’t let in, especially as a minority. A surprising 47% of students were minorities; was truly shocked when I read that.
@theoriginalclone & @Mayzie Sorry, I should have explained further! I am not RD, and I am not supposed to get my determination for another month. I am just so anxious to hear either way, when I saw that I had the link like all RD applicants, I couldn’t help but click it- just in case they accidentally released it early. I was half expecting it to go straight back to my application summary page, as it does this morning. I didn’t bother calling because I knew the admissions office would be flooded with questions, and I am not entitled to an answer yet anyway.
Deferred ED then rejected. Strangely not sad. Congrats everyone!
@allthingstesla You need to contact financial aid, ask them to review your numbers and let them know of the packages you received from Johns Hopkins and Columbia. Brown frequently reconsiders its packages and matched offers.
@fireandrain Thanks! I attached a letter telling the financial aid office that I really want to attend Brown next year and I attached my offer from Columbia because it was all need-based. How long does it usually take for them to respond?
rejected and at Princeton and Dartmouth WL at Penn and Harvard. in at Cornell
Is Brown paying for our flight to A Day On College Hill or do we have to book it ourselves??
