Hey, anybody play Counter Strike or any other kind of computer game? I want to know whos a gamer and who isn’t. =x But I’m guessing you guys aren’t gamers since you’re applying to Brown, a ivy league school, which makes you guys the smart school-oriented kids. Although I do both and I juggle them pretty well of course. Just wanted to know who else does the same crap as me, thanks :D

My brother always tries to get me to play, but I've yet to give in.

Ugh. There are better things I can do with my time than kill things on a computer screen.

I'd like to know just what you think exists that could top killing things on a computer screen (besides killing things elsewhere).

Talking to real-life people in real life?

Or, short of that, DDR. :p

I hate how sarcasm is hard to pick up in text...

DDR. Eugh.

DDR! Woot! hahaha

But apparently gaming helps hand-eye coordination or your smarts or something of that nature. I remember reading about that somewhere, a long time ago. Too bad I suck at it.

DDR is amazing. Especially when you're watching someone really good. It's mesmerizing. And all the asians rock at it. Asian pride!

yeah, i go to MIT's arcade to DDR, and they have such amazing DDRers there, asian and otherwise like, people who can triple A legend of max. it's just like wow, you're good. :p i can pass nines, but they're just soo good.

lol, I started a DDR fundraiser in my school. We brought in pads and set it up in the lobby, and we charged money for everyone to play in front of the entire school. So it was kinda like a 4-day-festival of DDR, and the teachers were all like, Tom this is the best fundraiser I've ever been too, instead of the usual BAKE SALE or PIZZA SALE yuck. I'm all for pizza, but these fundraisers were boring, so me and my friend Pat came up with a DDR fundraiser. Try it at your school :D

And I just don't play counter strike for fun, me and my friends set up teams, and we go to tournaments. And theres a lot of tournaments, national and internation tournaments with corporate sponsors such as Intel, AMD, nVidia, and ATI. So it's more than just "killing things on a computer screen."

haha, you don't need to get defensive or anything. i just don't like videogames that much.

yah, I'm a defensive person :( :x, so what do you do as a hobby/sport/activity?

I solve Rubik's cube for time.
I juggle.
I'm working on tunneling the Nintendo DS's WiFi. Also, putting Linux on it.
I distribute libertarian and right-wing propoganda.
I read math and history books.
For some reason, I'm obsessed with Christian culture and history (but I'm Jewish...).

I was cal-main last season in CS but I quit because I would like to pursue lets say.. a life? Yeah if I get accepted into Brown i will probably play cs a little.

haha, CAL-main? what team? I use to be in geek*esports =x and yes I don't have a life.

i have played for convicted, confed., and dT. yeah i am one of those new generation gamers hwo live normal lives but play games on the side. :P

I used to play counter-strike... my team was pretty famous, but it got too stressful, so I had to quit. You ever heard of team 3D?

haha that is kind of funny. Too bad you didn't play for 3D.. :)

Hahahaha yeah, I read an article in the Wall Street Journal about competitive computer games and wanted to see if you guys would recognize the name
