I wanted an updated view on this topic. What is it like to study engineering at Brown? How will the stress and work load compare to Duke? Do they have a lot of resources for this area?
I don’t have any idea about Duke’s program, but as an engineering student at Brown I can tell you that Brown’s program is no joke. In engineering you start off taking a few core classes before you specify in upper level classes. They have a giant machine shop next to the engineering building, with wood tools and something like 10 3D printers. Also, they’re currently working on a new $88 million engineering building and are going to double their engineering faculty by the start of the 2018-2019 year. Long story short, you’ll never run out of resources.
