Brown Interviews Yet?

Wondering if anyone has had their Alumni Brown Interview yet. Visited campus in November and submitted application Nov 15. Haven’t heard from them about an interview.

We were busy interviewing early decision applicants. RD applicants are ignored at first.
Many interviews don’t get assigned until all the applications are in, after Jan. 1.

Received an email today for an interview. going for the interview tomorrow (this is for, of course, regular decision)

I was contacted about an interview today. Does anyone the difference between “Central Interview” and “Individual Interview?”

I going for my interview on the 13th

does everyone get an interview?
i submitted my app but i haven’t had an interview request yet :(

I have not gotten an interview, either. Not everyone gets an interview, though.
From the website,
"Alumni Interviews

We encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity to meet with a Brown graduate in your area. Interviews are coordinated by the Brown Alumni Schools Committee program (BASC) in the Office of Alumni Relations. A conversation with one of our volunteer interviewers is an excellent way for you to learn more about Brown, and for us to learn more about you. You do not need to request an interview; once you submit an application, the BASC office will provide your contact information to the volunteers in your area. An alumnus/na will contact you to arrange a convenient time and place for the interview. After the conversation, the volunteer will send us notes about your personal strengths, which we will keep in your application file.

Although we have a world-wide volunteer force—and we try to arrange interviews with as many candidates as we can—it may not be possible for us to do so for all applicants depending on your location and the availability of volunteers. If it is not possible to arrange an interview with you, we promise that it would not hurt your application to Brown in any way."

We try really, really, really hard to interview everyone. Unfortunately, in the last couple years the number of applicants has overwhelmed the system, and we just can’t get to everyone.

If you haven’t been contacted yet, please DO NOT PANIC. It means absolutely nothing. The coordinator for my area hasn’t assigned one single interview yet – he likes to wait for all the names to be in the system before tackling the job.

Goterber, I gave an explanation of the difference between those two on a different thread. You can use the search function to find it.

Some of the other students in my school have been contacted for an interview over the course of the past week. Should I be worried since I have not yet been emailed or telephoned by an alumni?

I’m going for an interview next week or so. :)

Dawnwatcher: No, there is absolutely nothing to be worried about yet. Every interviewer works on a different pace.

Thank you for the prompt response, fireandrain. As it so happens, I was contacted by my alumni interviewer today! A weight has been lifted off my shoulders and a new one has fallen to take its place. xD
